Putting God first in the world today requires our deepest resolve, our greatest faith, our unwavering trust, and a very, very large measure of God’s grace.
What does it mean to put God first in our lives? Why is it important? What difference does it make? How would life be different? What are the challenges?
We’ll address this questions and more this month at First United Methodist Church of Allen. Come be a part of the answer.

Who’s on First? If Not God, then Who?
You shall fear the LORD your God; him alone you shall worship; to him you shall hold fast, and by his name you shall swear.
He is your praise; he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things that your own eyes have seen.

If God’s on First, Then What?
2 Peter 1:3-9
“Spiritual Disciplines teach us to live out our lives in harmony with something larger
than ourselves and larger than that which the world values as ultimate.”

Opposition Along the Way
1 Vindicate me, my God,
and plead my cause
against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me from those who are
deceitful and wicked.
2 You are God my stronghold.
Why have you rejected me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?
3 Send me your light and your faithful care,
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
