FUMC Allen On Site Projects
Below are just a few of the more than 80 projects that will be happening May 13-15 as part of Change The World Weekend. These are only the projects housed at First United Methodist Church of Allen located at 601 S Greenville Ave in Allen, Texas. You can also visit our Mission Control on Saturday, May 14, as early as 7:00am and Sunday, May 15, after worship at 10:30am.

Feed the Volunteers
12:00pm – 3:00pm
Gym Kitchen
Help provide meals to Change The World Weekend volunteers. You can drop off food donations at First United Methodist Church Allen in the Fellowship Hall kitchen on Thursday, May 12 (9:00am-5:00pm) and Friday, May 13 (9:00am-12:00pm). On Friday, we will be preparing and packing lunches to be delivered or picked up by project leaders and care coordinators.
SUGGESTED ITEMS: paper cups/plates/napkins, soft drinks or Gatorade (individual cans/bottles), paper towels, plastic wrap, sandwich bags, snack foods (cheese/peanut butter crackers, granola bars, peanuts, small packages of cookies, individual wrapped sliced cheese, loaves of white or wheat bread, tubs of sliced turkey or ham for sandwiches, pimento cheese spread, boxes of individual bags of chips, homemade cookies, large aluminum roasting pans

Card Making

Like arts and crafts? Help us create greeting cards to show our love and support for our military and help brighten the day of a senior citizen in Allen! We will make the cards on Saturday and deliver them on Sunday to nursing homes and/or pack them in care packages going to soldiers overseas! Great project for kids and families! Project Linus

Fellowship Hall
Project Linus, a non-profit organization, provides homemade blankets to children in need. Our blankets are lovingly made by adults and children from all walks of life and many different sources. Come help us prepare easy to make blankets; helpers will show us the proper techniques so that the final result will be ready for delivery to sick or traumatized children. Melissa Cook and Holly Barr
Gideons International/Deborah Circle

Parlor
Join the Deborah Circle as they welcome Barton Black to share the story of Gideons International. We’ll also replace hard Bible book covers with soft covers for people in prisons and fold informational material. This is a suitable sit down project. Burna Faye Kennedy, 972.423.7763.
