Financial Peace University

Financial Peace UniversityAccording to 2013 research of the Federal Reserve System,  70 percent of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and 51 percent of people ages 30-59 claim they have nothing saved for retirement. It doesn’t have to be this way for you.

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan!

FPU is a nine-week class that teaches God’s ways of handling money, and we offer you the invitation to be part of this life-changing class. Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!

Join us for nine weekly sessions beginning Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from 6:30pm-7:30pm, at FUMC Allen. The experience will get on the path towards managing God’s resources and money using God’s preferred method as taught in the Bible.

FUMC Allen offers free child care for your preschoolers (with a reservation) and fun programs for your older children, too. Before class, we invite the entire family to share in a  delicious value meal in our Fellowship Hall at 5:30pm followed by a 30-minute worship service in our Upper Room Chapel at 6:00pm. FPU starts at 6:30pm in the church parlor.

FPU coordinators are community volunteers who are not directly or indirectly compensated. They do not market or sell financial products or services. This class coordinator, Jason Hale,  looks forward to journeying with you as we follow Dave’s financial plan. Hale has served as an FPU coördinator since 2012 and has facilitated seven FPU classes. He led the team of lay leaders and church staff to implement Dave Ramsey’s Momentum at FUMC Allen. He has attended the two-day Dave Ramsey Momentum Seminar in Chicago, Illinois and has served on the church’s finance committee for two years. Hale has been an active member at FUMC Allen since 2006 and has married to his wife Susan for 21 years. Jason and Susan moved to Texas in 2006 and he works for Texas Instruments in Dallas. They are parents to three boys ages 17, 15 and 12.
