Welcome

FUMC exterior 2120x1192Whether you are new to Allen, new to Texas, new to Methodism, or new to Christianity, coming to a strange place with new faces, new practices, and new music, can cause some anxiety and trepidation. However, when you step in the doors at FUMC Allen, we expect you to be greeted by a friendly face who can quickly help you find where you need to go, be it Sunday morning, evening, or during the week.

Seven Worship Services

Three worship services are held in our main sanctuary every Sunday morning. You can park in visitor parking on the south and west side of the building. Greeters direct you to our Welcome Table just inside the labyrinth area, and these volunteers will be glad to help you find places in our building or answer questions.

At every service, you’ll find many genuine and warm people of all ages – from children to young adult to older adult. The sermons at each service are consistent, but the music varies at each service.

Our DayBreak Service at 8:15am in the sanctuary features a number of different vocalists and vocal groups. The tone is a bit quieter and always genuinely caring for people.

The Traditional Worship Service at 9:30am features the music of our Chancel Choir, organ, orchestra, and bell choirs with many opportunities for congregational singing. We share together in congregational prayer, the Affirmation of Faith, and other creeds.

Living Life Church, a mission congregation of FUMC Allen, meets for worship at John A Baker Elementary School, 3125 Bluewood Drive, McKinney, TX 75071 under the leadership of Rev. Abe Smith. The worship service begins at 10:30am, but guests are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early to enjoy refreshments and fellowship.

The Contemporary Worship Service at 11:00am is a slightly higher energy level, less formal and centered around a rock music band-style environment led by our praise team, Resonate, a group of four vocalists and a contemporary praise band.

The Way meets each Sunday at 11:00am in the Fellowship Hall, located in the north side of the building. For easy access to The Way, we suggest you park in the East Parking lot and enter through the doors covered by the green cloth awning.

Our youth ministry, COLLIDE, meets on Sunday evenings. Check the Youth Ministry page for details.

On Wednesday evenings at 5:55pm, as part of our Wednesday Night Life schedule, we offer a 30-minute Praise & Prayer Service in the sanctuary followed by a 30-minute Prayer Service.

JoinOurMailingListSUNDAY SCHOOL

Children are often a part of our worship. We encourage our children to stay in worship with their families and attend our great Sunday School program at 9:30am or 11:00am while their parents are in Bible study.

During Sunday School, we offer education and small group interaction for our spiritual growth–from infancy through adulthood. Classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and 11:00am while one class for adults meets in the church’s parlor at 8:15am. Our older children, K-6, meet upstairs in our newly remodeled Children’s Wing. Our younger children, ages 3 & 4, meet in the West Children’s Wing and our Nursery accommodates children from birth through 2. Our youth, grades 7-12, meet for Sunday school at 9:30am and 11:00am in the Youth Wing.

Our loving teachers and childcare workers create a great atmosphere for kids! Childcare during worship for ages birth through two is located on our lower level, accessed through our main labyrinth area in the first floor nursery hallway located in the Christian Life Center.  For safety, a sign-in system is used, and the person picking up the child must be the one who signed them in.
