Bring a picnic lunch, plenty of water and snacks.  Meet at FUMC Allen at 7:00am and we will depart at 7:15am, arriving at Dinosaur Park around 9:15am.  We will make a restroom stop and proceed to Track Site #2 where we will begin our hike. We will hike the Blue Trail, take a detour to walk the yellow trail to the scenic overlook and then return to the Blue Trail to hike a total of three hours.  We will stop for a picnic lunch after the hike at one of the picnic areas.     We should be returning to FUMC Allen by 3:30pm.

The Blue Trail is a very enjoyable scenic dirt trail along the Paluxy River through heavily forested area.  It is rated moderate to difficult with some elevation changes, but it is more moderate.   We will hike for 1.5 hrs. We’ll make a slight detour to take the yellow trail to the scenic overlook and return to blue trail, and then we’ll turn around and return.  This should be approximately a 5-6 mile hike there and back.    There are no restrooms facilities along the trail, but we will make a stop before hike and after within the park.

Ratings of Hikes:  Hikes are usually rated Easy, Moderate or Difficult.  Keep in mind that ratings, by their nature, are somewhat subjective. We will never do a hike that someone in  the group has not done, so we will always have someone you can direct trail.

Please let Glenn or Karen Elstoen, 469.656.1172, know if you plan on coming on the hike, if you are able to drive and also if you have a TX State Park Pass.
