More than 100,000 residents live in Allen, Fairview, and Lucas, Texas.
Can you imagine the impact that would be felt if 10 percent of our neighbors came together to make a difference?
We would create a tidal wave of charity that might just change the world.

The annual Change the World Allen Weekend returns to the Allen/Fairview/Lucas area May 13-15. Change the World Allen unites area churches, nonprofit organizations, businesses, individuals and families who work together to serve those in need of food, clothing, safe shelter and comfort.
“Many of us wish we could do more to make a difference in the lives of others, but we tend to think we don’t have enough time or resources to offer. Change the World Allen Weekend provides volunteer opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities who wish to pay it forward right here in our own community,” notes David Wuensch, president of the Allen Ministerial Alliance/3C Allen. “Our volunteers make a huge, widespread impact in a single weekend.”
In 2015, some 3,000 Change the World Allen volunteers completed nearly 80 projects totally approximately 7,500 service hours.
Projects include home improvement; yard work; collection, sorting, and packing of food, clothing, shoes, books, and personal care items; and cleaning and support for Collin County nonprofit agencies.
Change the World Allen Weekend kicks off Friday, May 13 at 7:00pm with a celebration on the new South Green at Watters Creek. The highlight of the evening is a concert featuring ’70s cover band Connections. Admission is free, but “love offerings” supporting Change the World Allen will be accepted. Refreshments can be purchased from food trucks parked behind the South Green.
